Polisblog: this is how the Italian blogoshpere will vote

Milan, March 27, 2008 – Bloggers have expressed their political preference by crowding in the last few days Polisblog.it (www.polisblog.it), the Italian blog, part of Blogo.it’s network, dedicated to politics.
The survey dedicated to electoral vote preferences, launched by Polisblog last week, ended yesterday with over 13,000 people who expressed their vote.
The results? They differ from the reality shown every day by the mass media.
The coalition which groups the Partito Democratico (33%) and Italia dei Valori (7%) is in the lead with 40% of votes, whilst according to the survey conducted by Ispo for Il Corriere della Sera, it was at 37.5%. The centre-right (with the Partito delle Libertà at 28% and Lega Nord at 9%) is clearly under estimated compared to the trend shown on the main newspapers: only 37% against 44.5% resulting from the survey.
Strong fall of the Udc led by Casini: it hardly reaches 1%, while the main survey Institutes say it is at around 7%. The results for Sinistra Arcobaleno and La Destra, respectively at 6% and 4%, are in line with the results published by Ispo.
Particularly interesting are the tête-à-tête between the minor political parties: Giuliano Ferrara and the “Aborto? No Grazie” list are at the same level of Boselli’s Partito Socialista. However the Movimento per L’Autonomia led by Raffaele Lombardo and the Sinistra Critica did not receive many consents: both of these political parties are below 1% with just a few users willing to click on their party symbol.
The survey, supported by Polisblog.it, doesn’t have any statistic purpose, but it does however give an interesting view on the voting intentions of the over 5 million people who every month visit the web pages of Blogo.it’s network, equal to over 30% of the Italian web users, according to Audiweb data.
The survey can be consulted at the following address http://www.polisblog.it/post/200/sondaggio-cosa-voterai-il-13-aprile.
Polisblog.it will also be monitoring non stop, in real-time, the Italian Election Day on April 13 and 14: data, exit polls, interviews and comments from Internet, the big virtual square.
