“Vita da Blogger” the book on bloggers by Splinder is available on Lulu.com

Splinder gives Italian bloggers the chance to talk through a book dedicated entirely to them, to the Italian blogosphere and in general to the phenomenon of blogs

Milano, January 10th, 2008Splinder, the number one Italian blogging community, dedicates a book to bloggers’ experiences: Lulu.com, the international leading self-publishing website, has been chosen as partner for the distribution of the book.

The book Vita da Blogger, already available on Lulu.com, aims to become the point of reference of the phenomenon of blogs by collecting the stories of women and men whose lives have changed thanks to the virtual presence they have on their blogs. From virtual to real, contacts made thanks to a keyboard, become real people to meet and talk to, creating working opportunities, friendships or even something more.

Many examples of famous bloggers, like Personalità Confusa, Andrea Beggi and Luca Conti are in chapter n° 3, but Vita da Blogger contains many other interesting information which help readers understand the phenomenon of blogs in Italy. A short introduction written by Guido Di Fraia (Professor of Sociology of Cultural and Communicational processes at IULM University in Milan) explains how this phenomenon can be collocated in a wider context in which it is often difficult to understand the psychological, cultural and social mechanisms.
The first chapter, written by Enrico Maria Milič, Enrico Marchetto and Roberto Costa (DiarioAperto’s research team [http://diarioaperto.it]) sums up the situation of the Italian blogosphere describing the profiles of blog authors and readers in Italy.
Chapter n°2, written by Roberto Lo Jacono and Paolo Murgia (memorable members of Splinder’s team), describes in general what blogs are, how they are created and the various types of blogs we can find most frequently.

The book Vita da Blogger is the result of Splinder’s experience “Vita da Blogger” [http://vitadablogger.splinder.com], the blog with more than 300 stories, created last year to describe the experiences in which bloggers are the main stars.

Vita da Blogger is edited by Marco Palombi, Roberto Lo Jacono, Simona Andalo (Splinder, 2007) and is on sale online at Lulu’s Splinder store [http://stores.lulu.com/splinder] at only 10 €, shipment expenses included. The price of the book is held down thanks to the fact that the authors have accepted to give up their royalties and the fact that Dada, company which has the web propriety of Splinder.com, supported all the editorial activities, the graphic development and the editing.
