DADA UNVEILS ITS INTRANET 2.0
How web 2.0 tools can become useful for the employees’ benefits
Florence, December 19th, 2007 – Dada, international leader in the Digital Entertainment field via web and mobile, unveils “Tata Dada 2.0”, its new company Intranet. Completely renewed, the new Intranet completes itself by integrating the tools specifically created for Dada.net’s users, the community which counts 12 million users in 40 countries in the world and 40.000 new users every day.
The 2.0 version reflects the changes, in terms of structure and processes, which has seen Dada become a multinational with offices worldwide, starting from the headquarters in Florence, the offices in Milan, Bergamo, New York, Beijing, Rio de Janeiro, San Paolo, Barcelona and Worcester.
The steady and significant growth of the turnover (from 29.7 million Euro in 2003 to 157 million Euro estimated for 2007) and the increasing number of employees (Dada counts nearly 600 highly qualified co-workers and is continually looking for new talents) have required the planning of a new Intranet, which can be used both as an informative tool in the relationship between employee and company, and also as an interactive tool, necessary for everybody’s job.
Organizing the processes, all of course digitalized, but even user generated content and the sharing of know-how: blogs and wiki have been put along side with technologies which allow the horizontal exchange of information and knowledge. Blogs are open to comments and suggestions – allowing single areas to share projects – and wiki platforms – allow changes and continuous elaboration for correctly managing the growing information flow. They both are available to all teams with the awareness that an open communication generates added value for Dada’s employees and for Dada itself.
Simplicity and personalization are too more aspects that distinguish the new Intranet. Starting from a basic page, anyone can create its own Intranet adding widgets chosen depending on one’s interests and needs. From booking the meetings room to viewing graphs and all the information regarding the proceeding of the business. “We invested a lot in the new Intranet and chose within our company a team especially dedicated to its development in order to create a product made for us, based on the user’s experience and on the tools that we offer every day on Dada.net” – says Paolo Barberis, Chairman and Founder of Dada – “the new Tata 2.0 was studied to favor communication by giving value to knowledge through the access to all the useful information to all our Business Units, to implicitly increase our company value thanks to the optimization of the processes”.
The new Tata is perfectly integrated with the social networking tools of Dada.net: for example, looking up the name of a colleague, you will be able to reach his personal space and find out something more about him with a simple click.
The team dedicated to the new Intranet will continue to enrich the Tata Dada 2.0 with new features and develop solutions in order to make the use of these tools for everyday’s work easy and immediate on every device (Dada’s team is for example about to release the version for BlackBerries).
“The Tata Dada 2.0 is a perfect example of how Intranets can become open and cooperative working spaces – says Mariano Corso, Head of the Scientific division of the Osservatorio Enterprise 2.0 of the School of Management del Politecnico in Milan, which has been following for over 5 years the evolution of the Intranets in Italy and worldwide – thanks to the introduction of tools typical of the web 2.0 era, like blogs, wiki and social networks, intranets like Tata Dada 2.0 activate new organizational models based on the involvement, the emerging cooperation, the sharing of knowledge and the valorization of internal and external social networks within the organization”.
