Marco Argenti, Managing Director of Dada.net (Dada acquired 100% of Splinder in October 2006), comments Splinder’s presence at the show “Più Libri Più Liberi” like this:
“Splinder has always stood out in Italy for being a blogging community which puts at everyone’s disposal high quality contents generated by its users. Many bloggers approached Internet for the first time by writing on Splinder: they chose a topic to distinguish themselves, attracted audience becoming well known and then made a big leap outside the Web and directly towards the traditional printed paper. Splinder plays a role as new media contributing in all means in Italy in consolidating the so called User Generated Content.
Thanks to SPAZIO BLOG within the exhibition Più Libri Più Liberi, we would like to give our personal contribute to the debates and the exchange of opinions on blogging and the publishing industry, two converging worlds”.
Marina Bellini, founder and in charge of PiùBLOG:
“From the beginning, our intent was to bring blogs outside the Web for a direct face to face with the editorial field which creates contents on the Web. The appointment at Più Libri Più Liberi, for the second year in a row, is a chance for all the people who follow us on the Web during the year, to talk about the most exciting topics from our blog, listening to what influential figures have to say during the show”.
SPAZIO BLOG by Splinder will also be the place to present
“Vita da blogger”, the book edited by M. Palombi, R. Lo Jacono, P. Murgia, S.Andalo – Splinder (2007): a collection of stories of women and men whose lives have changed thanks to the virtual presence they have on their blogs.
Two literary projects born from PiùBlog will be presented during the show:
“Emozioni tra le righe” (Emotions between the lines), a collection of stories in 10 lines of the books that have left a sign in bloggers’ hearts. The second one is called
“La favola rotonda” (The round fairytale), a book for children born thanks to bloggers’ initiative, and the profit will be granted in charity for the battle against Neuroblastoma.
"Più Libri Più Liberi", which last year counted more than 50 thousand visits, is organized with the Patronage of the Board of Public Education and thanks to the contribution of the Ministry of Cultural Activities and Heritage, Lazio Region, the city of Rome, Rome district and Rome’s Chamber of Commerce.
